You just delivered to our house!
Hey Sung, and whoever else sees this!
You just personally delivered my husband and I dinner, at *** Broadway, and we are obsessed!
The food was so so delicious and well done, perfectly tender and so yummy.
I will pass your info on to all our neighbors, between whom the conversation constantly
goes to "where do you get food from." My mom and dad also live at ** Broadway and I will tell them too.
I can't tell you how sick of my rotation of places I have become, and I am so excited to have a new option.
We will also come in, because for it to be this great as delivery food, I am sure to be blown away in your restaurant.
Thanks again for the personal delivery! :)
Happy New Year,

Calling all real foodies!
We went based on the mpages and yelp reviews and were SO impressed.
Let's just say we loved it so much that we ate dinner and got extra food to go for lunch the next day.
Nothing better than awesome comfort food on a cold NY winter day!
This place is tiny with 10 stools and 4 employees but talk about quality!
Chef knew his stuff and picked out a 3 course dinner to go with the argentinean wine we brought.
Steak and fish and duck were top notch! Pasta, fries, soup and salad all unique and wonderful.
As awesome as the food was, we loved the experience just as much.
It's not every day you eat high quality flavorfull food in a tiny restaurant in wburg on a stool looking into the kitchen.
And also for the chef to explain each and every thing to you.
Go for a experience, try new things bring wine, call ahead and ENJOY!

Eat what's recommended because it's whats freshest and boy is that good.

Two of us running thru the streets of NYC chasing that dream of perfect culinary experience after a great play.... 15min late to our reservation. And no cell phone reception... The dread of missing out on a key destination for my wife's birthday plan. Finally we get through to tell the chef we are late, and we were able to get in 30min late, and started to study the menu. This place is 80% kitchen and 20% rest. It makes for an interesting atmosphere where food is the most important part. Ingredients was creatively combined and tastes great. Chef Park expressed concern on how popular its getting, but since I am just visiting, I have no issues with giving his place a 5/5. Its great food and great value. You just have to accept the limitations
- BYOB (we couldn't due to coming straight from a play) and space for only about 8.

This place is a true gem in South Williamsburg. I'm so thrilled that my friend found this spot for us to enjoy dinner last night. The place is tiny but the food is absolutely incredible and the staff are exceptional.
We brought our own bottle of red wine to enjoy. The darling waitress was more than happy to provide us with glasses and a corkscrew, free of charge. She was also personable and let us know that they will be adding tables outside when the weather is more reliably warmer.
I was going to order the Lamb Shank special, but the waitress informed us that it's going to be added to the main menu soon, so I'll get that next time. Instead, I tried their grass-fed Kobe Beef Burger, which I highly recommend with their aged cheddar. It was absolutely delicious! The portions are typically French in size, but that is just enough to feel satisfied. My friend ordered the homemade pasta and ate every last delicious bite.
We finished off with their house-made doughnuts, as recommended by other Yelp reviews I saw. We got the cinnamon ones, and OMG AMAZING.
I was almost hesitant to post a review of this place because I want it to be my special secret, but they deserve all the praise! I'll definitely be going back soon.

Holy crap, this place is fuckin good. Like, everything on the menu is so, so good. I would recommend making a reservation, because the place is small and word is spreading that the food is to die for, but they do offer to call you when there's space available and you can go around the corner and drink a few beers while you wait.
We had the lamb shank, which was on the special menu but they said it would be added to the regular menu because it was so popular. Lamb was falling off the bone and so tender. We also had the foie gras which was a little salty but it was cut by the sweetness of the grapes.
I didn't know the cruelty behind foie gras before I ate it, but I wouldn't have it again simply based on that.
Best dish? The seafood stew (kimchi bouillabaisse). I can't believe how good this was. Comes with bread to dip in the base.
Good portions, appropriate pricing (around $15 per dish), and orgasm-in-your-mouth kind of food.
GO!

Ridiculously good. Like, explosion in your mouth kind of good.
Things to note:
1) Absolutely make reservations - this place is so tiny (barely seats 10) so it will, inevitably, be quite packed
2) In fact, it's so small that they have no bathroom so make sure to handle your business before you come here
(or else you'll have to visit the bodega across the street)
3) Cash only
4) Bring a bottle of wine with you - they don't sell alcohol
5) Come hungry & don't leave without trying the homemade doughnuts!
6) I wouldn't compare this to a Michelin rated restaurant but for the location, quality & price, it definitely deserves 5 stars
We had:
Appetizers: Wild Mushrooms (yummy but could be skipped), Mac & Cheese with Truffle Oil (if you like smokey flavors, you'll love this version), Pommes Frites (soo fresh & the accompanying homemade ketchup is on another level)
Entrees: Kimchi Buillabaisse (this dish epitomizes the cuisine here - never thought korean/french fusion would taste soo good), Lamb Shank (so rich in flavor) and a Kobe Beef Burger (my fiance loved it). The attention to detail is superb.
Dessert: Citrus doughnuts (homemade, light & so fresh)
We had an amazing dinner and will definitely be back soon.

A great new local spot. Hopefully it won't be incredibly packed all the time so I can go there with a bottle of champagne,
a cute girl and order delicious food again**.
We had: crispy Proscuitto salad - anything with proscuitto is hard for me not to like.
Braised Pork Belly - very tender and very rich in flavor
Kimchi Buillabaisse - the broth was fantastic and my kind of flavor*
Farro Mushroom Risotto - very good but it was hte last thing I ate when I was already stuffed with pork.
I can only imagine how I would have treated this plate had it arrived at the beginning of the meal
My only gripe is no tap water.
*as in it is the style of food I like. A lil spicy, very garlicy.
**if we all keep rating it 5 stars we will never be able to eat here again.

Duck Confit: Slow cooked duck, fuji apple, celery root puree crispy celery leaves, fig balsamic reduction
Handcut Fries
Kimchi bouillabaisse:Mussel, scallop, pollack, shrimp, fried tofu. Rice gnocchi, konbi, white wine, korean chili paste, watercress and kimchi
2) Absolutely reasonable price, not cheap, but not exorbitant like manhattan
3) Can meet the CHEF!!
Cons:
1) REALLY small, we're talking barely fitting 7 people

Hightly recommend it!

I was VERY impressed with this gem. Ordered the beet puree soup, mushroom risotto and braised lamb shank. And citrus donuts for dessert. Every item was spot on. Best fresh donuts EVER!
........
An absolutely perfect restaurant. Get the Bouillabaisse. Get the Foie Gras. Get the Doughnuts.
Look, here's the thing. At the time I'm writing this, this restaurant has five stars with 31 reviews in. Have you seen any other restaurant on this damn site with five stars? This place is pure magic. It's the kind of place that you text your friends about all night and tell your coworkers about the next day.
And the best part is: an okay sized delivery zone that comes to me :-)

I must say I really love this place! Chef Sung is one of the coolest people I know and he is very serious about cooking you one of the best meals you will ever have. In my opinion, it's the best restaurant on the Southside! Do yourself a favor and try it asap. You won't be sorry!

OMG, i just wanna come here everyday! great food, nice staff, and reasonable price. Portion is kinda small, but well this is french cuisine, if you want a big portion, dont come here. The chef was really friendly! He combines french and korean dishes, and its GOOD! We had lamb shank the other day and I swear, I wanted to lick the plate clean if I could! And we also had braised pork belly, smoked mackerel, and french donuts! The donuts were fresh. You order it, they make it. The place is small, so if you go during the weekend, make reservation.
I am soooo looking forward to come back here!

We made reservations well ahead of time and all 5 of us are trained and or untrained culinarians. We didn't get to take pictures due to the fact that we were so excited about the food. We ordered beet soup, artichoke, kobe beef burger, kimchi bouillabaisse, duck confit, fresh pasta and braised pork belly. Since we were 4 siblings and a girlfriend we were ready to arm wrestle for each bite. The kobe burger and bouillabaisse were so amazing we ordered a second course of both. The atmosphere, the staff, the prices are all amazing. Tip them well they earn every homage you can offer! We are already referring this really freakin good chef and his staff to every one we know who is coming to the city! Although we would love to keep it a secret every success they enjoy will be well deserved.

This is a really difficult review for me to write. Thing is, I don't want this place to get more crowded, but... The food here is off the charts. I was just here for brunch today, and I was absolutely floored. Just had the steak and eggs. Seems pretty simple. But... it was perfect. Literally, perfect. Split the mushroom appetizer, which was just mushrooms, butter, and some herbs and, yet... again, perfect. Everyone around us was loving their food, too -- I kept wanting to steal plates as they came by.
Here's the bad news. It's small. I mean, seriously: really. freaking. small. I was there at 2pm and was able to get right in, but I have to imagine the wait is considerable other times of the day. Put another way, and as others have said, know what you're getting into: BYOB (no corkage!), cash only, 10 seats. But if you want is perfect food in a casual (yet intimate) setting, you won't go wrong here.

Went here last night and thought the food was very good. The place is very petit as in the name. We spoke to the Chef for a little and he was saying that it is very busy during the weekends and has people lined up outside to order. We were lucky not having to wait at all.
I started off but ordering the Truffle Mac & Cheese then had the Braised Pork Belly, both were very good. The Pork belly was like butter. You didn't even need a knife. The only thing I would "complain" about was that I didn't have enough pork belly on my dish and wanted more.
For desert, I ordered the Doughnuts. I had the citrus flavored doughnut. It had a hint of lemon. That was good as well.

Came here last night, had a wonderful time.
Before telling you why this place rocks (and believe me, it does), I want to point out the few small things that might annoy people:
- This place is uber-small. We're talking counter seating on stools. Good news is that once the weather gets nice,
they'll have 5 outdoor tables with a bit more room.
- No tap water, must pay for bottled water (but they're BYOB, no corkage, so this is very forgivable)
- Cash only
Now to why this place rocks:
The food is great -great-great. Perfect portions, great execution on dishes. The meats were very well prepared and the vegetables stood up to the meats and were delicious. All our dishes were literally 'lick the plate' clean.
Service was casual. As this place is so small, everyone pitches in to clear plates, getting you new silverware, etc. If you're looking to be "served" this is not where you should go. That said, being in such an intimate environment makes you feel very much a part of the experience.
Highlights:
- Lamb shank with mint + basil pistou. WOW-good
- String bean appetizer + mushroom appetizer -- this place NAILS their vegetables. Both delicious
- Kimchi bouillabaisse -- a great signature dish. I'd eat this every night...
- French donuts. Save room for dessert. These little guys are great!
Skip:
- Crispy prosciutto salad. It's a small amount of prosciutto and as it's less fatty (to get it crispy) I found it a little too salty. That said, the salad that was with it was delish
-- well dressed salad, perfect amount of cheese.
- Truffle mac. It was very good, but so many places have something similar and this place does other apps/dishes that are far more inventive. Fill up on other items on the menu.
Making this meal even more special was Chef Park taking time to come over and chat with us for a while, both about food and a whole host of other things. It's funny,
when you get to know the "brains behind the operation" and they are super warm, friendly, relate-able, and personable, you seem to love your meal even more.
This place will stick around for a long time in the neighborhood, and I'm glad it will! I'll be back soon.

This place is sweet. We took the right bottle of red wine that went with all of the aromatic flavors, which were not as spicy as I had anticipated.
The beet soup was superb-a little thick, but amazing. And the dark pink color itself was divine. The pommes frites were also excellent, although they were only served with ketchup and not with mayo (I had to ask for that). My companion's lamb was perfect, although a little fatty and salty. Also, the prosciutto salad we had was topped with cured prosciutto chips that were very salty. All in all, this is a great spot, especially for an intimate dinner, but don't expect any kind of service and don't bring your parents who suffer from high blood pressure.

Really wonderful meal. The goat cheese with crispy prosciutto salad is just right. I had the lamb special which was so full of taste and tenderness. The hot donuts....omg!

Fantastic take on French cuisine with a Korean flare. My gf and I ordered take out and the food was incredible. The Kobe burger was pretty amazing, however the seafood Bouillabaisse was incredible. My gf (Korean) couldn't stop talking about how it's a perfect traditional dish blended with cream making it irresistible. This is now one of our favorite local eateries. Thank you!

The food is so good, it' worth the hassle of having to pay cash and fight for seating.
I only recently discovered this gem, and I'm assuming they'll be moving into a larger spot considering it's always full.
Worth the wait if you can't get in right away.

Ridiculously delicious things come in small packages, as the saying goes.
This place is seriously petit. There might be 10 seats total, and that's generous. However, along with the friendly smiles of the staff, the small size lends an intimate, hospitable air to the joint. There are no bad seats: sit at the counter, and it feels as though Chef Sung Park is cooking just for you. (And he is. Exceedingly well.) Or sit facing the street, and watch the world go by.
I decided to start with the turnip soup. Beautifully simple, it arrived with a slice of bacon laid across the top of the bowl, and two slices of slightly buttered bread on the side. It was lusciously creamy, and as perfect as anything can be on a winter evening. I crumbled the crisp bacon into the bowl, dipped my bread, and burned myself repeatedly because I simply couldn't wait to drink it all down.
Since I'd already filled my quota for the week, I was forced to pass on the Kobe burger that I am sure I will come back for and love with every fiber of my being. I inquired about the fish special, and they were overly apologetic that since the sous was out sick, nobody had time to make it to the fish market that morning. (That's how small we're talking.)
However, any seafood lover would be satisfied with the substitute special, the Frutta Del Mar. It was what I'm calling the chef's take on pajeon, a gooey scallion pancake baked into a cast-iron skillet and stuffed with oysters, shrimp and squid. It was tender, fishy and satisfying.
Bistro Petit is the sort of place I wish I had downstairs from my apartment. Tiny, homey, run by a chef and his staff that truly want to make you happy with food and are succeeding admirably.
Cash only. No tap water (fine, but I wish the only option wasn't Evian).

Yep! 5 stars for Bistro Petit! The food speaks for itself.
Things to remember: cash only, 10 seats, self service, BYOB, no corkage fees.
Save a little room for the most amazing french doughnut at the end of the meal!

10 seats. Self service. BYO. Food to die for. That about sums up Bistro Petit. You can carve out a variety of experiences for yourself at this French-and-slightly-Korean nook on the corner of Driggs and South 4th, from a comfort food-driven evening to a gourmet blowout (tasting menu available Mon/Tues with 1wk advance notice).
Chef Park has stripped everything away to make this tiny space work, leaving only the food. That food speaks for itself, and it speaks volumes. The Korean-influed Bouillabaisse was a revelation - a bit lighter and spicier than the original - but so did "steak frites" with a peppery, tender cut of grass-fed beef
under a pile of crispy chips. The homemade pasta is shockingly good - having been to Torrisi two nights before, we both agreed that Bistro Petit's version was better.
Moving on back toward the appetizers, the salad (pancetta, sundried tomatoes, goat cheese) and the mushroom toasts were similarly outstanding.
This is one of those "Brooklyn experiences" that is likely to become all the more rare as rents skyrocket. Get there while you can!

Every once in a while you come across a little place that knocks your socks off, and you just want them to succeed sooo badly! Eating at this restaurant felt like stumbling into a bar by chance because there's no cover and it's a Monday night and hearing an incredible band that's playing on old, beat-up gear and you just want to give them your money, you know?
We had the cream of carrot soup, kimchee seafood bouillabaisse, and steak with fried potatoes. Everything was amazing.
The portions aren't enormous, but big enough, VERY reasonably priced, and presented beautifully.
The chef/owner, Park, came out during a lull in the kitchen and talked to us for a good long while, telling us about his past, his training, and his philosophy of cooking. He cooks sort of a fusion between French cuisine and Korean homestyle with an emphasis on local and seasonal seafood, he uses high quality ingredients, and he does pretty much everything himself. This is a small operation.
I imagine if you come at a really busy time it might be a little hectic and stressful, because there are only a few people working there, but the food was just phenomenal.
I can't stress that enough.

Hands down, one of the most amazing spots in the neighborhood. Great food, awesome people, friendliest staff ever! I'm working my way through tasting the whole menu...everything is very, very tasty.
.
Had the Kobe burger and the mac'n'cheese.
Both were outstanding, burger was my favorite size (smallish) and utterly delicious.
Pasta was crunchy, gooey, truffly.
Love.

French and Korean inspired food and BYOB??? SOLD! My girlfriend found this restaurant while searching for her two favorite cuisines and after reviewing the menu decided to trek out to Williamsburg. When we arrived we discovered a cozy, intimate restaurant with seats that allow you to both watch and talk to the chef as he showcases his talents. The two of us actually ended up sitting facing the window as the aforementioned seats were taken but that was fine by us. It's self service so once you situate yourself and review the menu,
you just place the order at the register or from your seat if you're facing the kitchen and the chef.
The two of us ordered the brussel sprouts, truffle mac and cheese, foie gras, organic steak, and cinnamon french doughnuts. Brussel sprouts were spot on...crunchy and flavorful. Truffle mac and cheese - lets just say I embarrassingly drooled on my shirt just before the fork hit my mouth. The foie gras - I only got two bites because my girlfriend wanted the whole thing, The foie gras paired with the grilled grapes and pears was out of this world! I think some Riesling would have been amazing with this dish. The organic steak - if you like peppercorn sauce you are in for a treat! The meat was unbelievably tender and the accompanying ribbon fries added a nice crunch. French doughnuts - they're deliciously crispy on the outside and a little gooey on the inside...piping hot!
For the steak course, the chef personally brought out the dish and asked us how everything was. He asked us how we discovered the restaurant and when we told him we searched for French and Korean cuisine online he enthusiastically responded with "who else makes French-Korean food besides me?"
Definitely planning on coming back to try the kimchi bouillabaisse, braised pork belly, fish, burger...
hmmm come to think of it I'd like to come back for everything plus the tasting menus.
Chef Sung Park...I will see you in two weeks with some new guests and hope more people discover this gem of a restaurant!

ecstatic to have this place finally open and so near our home!!!

We were going to a friends art opening in the neighborhood and were looking for a byob place nearby. we were thoroughly Suprised with the place given the stools and countertops. food was excellent the chef Park talked with us. and i was SHOCKED! to find the place was only open for 7 weeks. i came here b/c of reviews on yelp but didn't realize the place just opened.
the doughnuts are a MUST at this place i liked the cinnamon was excellent was not a fan of the citrus as I couldn't taste the citrus.
i like extreme flavors and it might be too sublte for me.
my boyfriend had the kobe burger with avocado and bacon, we were going to split our mains and he ate a fair amount of my porgy/fish of the day dish which was exclellent, i liked the little bits of moichi (poiunded rice cake) with the veggies. but he wolfed the burger down and i only got 1 small bite! was a bit pissed but obviously must have been good.
also had the duck confit which comes with a healthy portion of greens sprinkled with pomegranate seeds. and a little crostini with foi gras spread on it. lovely!
the price is the best part, cannot go wrong. love the place, actually took photos of the food and texted my friend who i think will love this place.
will be back again gets my thumbs up. reminded me a bit of La Sirene when it first opened too.
la sirene still gets my favorite byob place but this a close second.

I'll be honest by saying that I was almost tempted to write a negative review because I don't want this place to get over-run by annoying "City Folk". Bistro Petit is too perfect the way it is to have to deal with that disruptive and disloyal attention.
Rather it's BP's attention that is my favorite thing about it. From the moment you meet "Chef'" you know your talking to a man who's focused like a laser-beam. He better be, considering that he's not only the Chef, but also the head waiter, greeter...basically every position in a restaurant. His dishes reflect that focus by being innovative without going overboard. Foie Gras came with charred grapes on the vine and drizzle of port wine reduction. A local Porgy (a bit of a fishier fish than I usually go for) was perfectly balanced by the use of kalamata olives and butternut squash. There is no "gilding the Lilly" here.
Obviously food and atmosphere are the most important attributes, but BP gets extra points for being BYO also. I love being the master of my own destiny when it comes to wines in restaurants.
This all being said, I can't wait to go back again for another great experience.
We're already planning our anniversary dinner with their 9 course offering.
I'm sure that will knock our socks off!

Five stars is right!
Kobe burger was grilled to perfection. Juicy, flavorful and I had a fried egg on top.
Edamame flavored with pork fat was a little extreme but tasty.
I need to come back and try the braised pork!
Nothing over $15
Affordable, organic, fresh ingredients are used here with personal service!

Went here for lunch. I got the quinoa and the Kobe burger. Both good. I like this place... the cooks are friendly, and the place is cute.
I think they could be a little bit more bold/experimental with the menu though.

I got the classic burger with avocado as an add-on ($12). This shit was one of the juiciest burgers I've ever eaten. Just make sure you get a couple napkins! It was very delicious, though definitely not filling. For $12, I wish it came with a little side dish.
Definitely sit at the bar facing the kitchen if you can, as you can watch EVERYTHING, it's pretty awesome. The window seats are not as great for people watching as it seems, just because it's south side and there's not much action. Also, at night time, the lights are so bright inside that it's difficult to see the outside.
Note: BYOB! No cork fee! Even if you're just drinking water, bring your own or buy it at a nearby bodega because they only have Evian and Volvic!
I hate Evian!

I went here on a saturday night with my boyfriend. Firstly, the food was amazing. We ate a lot: butternut squash soup, truffled mac and cheese, grilled short rib, steak special with sweet potatoes and the french donuts for dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly. The food was creative and delicious. Even though this is a self serve kind of place, the people who worked at the restaurant were quite attentive. They helped explain the menu and even helped us clear our plates (despite the sign on the wall that asks you to bring your trays to the front). I would definitely come back here again. The only down side is that they only accept cash, which would make me less likely to eat here on an impulse.

Some buzzwords: fresh, high quality, friendly, cheap high class meal
I don't write reviews on here(anywhere) ever, but this place deserves my time. I go out to dinner at least 4-5 times a week(Traif, Pies/Thighs, Mables, M Shanghai, Caracas, Rye, Diner, Pates et Traditions, St. Anslem, Fette Sau, Post Office, Mamas Food Shop, Lobster Place, Ppaulie Gees). I live a few blocks away and I honestly wasn't expecting anything great from the decor(i'm a judgmental hipster, sue me). I assumed it was going to have some paninis, croissants or something from Balthazar, ha! Boy was I wrong. I walked in Thursday night around 830pm to half of the 10 seats full. Thankfully, there was a seat for me or I would of left and gotten some dry fried chicken from Pies and Thighs.
MY FIRST NIGHT:
I looked over the menu and asked the sous chef what he recommended(there are only 3 people that work there total). A girl sitting down next to the kitchen window says, "you should just get a burger, IT'S GREAT!" Alright, you don't have to twist my arm. The Kobe Burger($11)(Grass Fed Natural Kobe Beef, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion w/ Picked Baby Plum)(ordered Medium) doesn't come with fries or a small salad, which always pisses me off, but I went for it anyway. Ordered a side of Pommes Frites($4)(Hand-Cut Potato Everyday, Mediterranean Sea Salt & Spanish Smoked Paprika w/ Hickory smoked ketchup) and a coke as well.
About 10-15mins later it was ready. It was about the same size as the Dumont burger, with twice the flavor. Fries were good and were a large enough portion to share. I've eaten a lot of burgers- fast ones, big ones, little ones, juicy ones, cheap ones, dry ones, expensive ones(you get it). I would classify this burger as an EXTREMELY juicy classic burger that you would find in an expensive restaurant in the city for $22, easy. The meat was ridiculously juicy. I'm not kidding. There was a meat juice explosion all over the plate. I didn't finish my fries because there just a few too many for me and I wanted to save room for the French Doughnuts(with choice of Sugar -Citrus / Mint / Cinnamon). I got cinnamon.
HOLY MOTHER OF **** *** ******* *** ***** ** *****!!!
I mean, whoa. So good. Very airy, super fresh. You get 5 rather large doughnut holes covered in your choice of sugars. Amazing finish to a very unpretentious high quality meal. Juice explosions and sugary balls, my girlfriend is gonna love this place.
SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW
Friend and I walk in at 7pm on a Friday night, it was almost empty. Within five minutes there were no more seats and there was a line of people ordering take out, also the phone is ringing off the wall with to go orders. Crazy.
We ordered: (I'm gonna butcher the specials verbiage here)
the two specials
1. Pan Seared Crispy Skin Fresh Cod(caught this morning in Boston) with an orange tomato curry sauce and some green oil(dont remember) on a bed of chinese broccoli and a stack of potatoes. $15
2. Organic Skirt Steak sliced with a pepper cone sauce and thin Korean Sweet Potato chips, small Mesclun salad. $15
two haricovert(Saute French Bean, Soy Sauce, Sliced Almond & Olive Oil) $7each
Cinnamon Doughnuts $5
Mint Doughnuts $5
AMAZINGGGGGGG
Only complaint really is we could of ordered one less haricovert and doughnuts, but I'm fat. That's not even a complaint.
THIRD NIGHT IN A ROW(I'm obsessed, ok)
Went with 2 friends, they ordered the Braised Pork Belly and a Burger with fries.
I had the Pork Belly(Braised with Red Wine, Apple, Lemon, Chili, Ginger & Chest Nut w/ Bokchoi Kimchi) as well as the Butternut Squash Bisque and Citrus Doughnuts.
The Braised Pork Belly was RIDICULOUS. The sauce was so complex(I've never said that before) and reminded me of a lighter Mole sauce. The actual pork belly was the size of a large hamburger patty(the biggest belly I've ever eaten). The top of it has a thin layer of juicy fat and the bottom layer is basically the consistency of pulled pork but not pulled. Looking back, I can't remember anything for that entire 15mins, like I was black out drunk from food. I know it's cheesy to say, but I must of died and gone to food heaven. God/Jesus/whoever you believe in/Chef Park said hello, then I woke up.
-There aren't any servers. You just order from one of the sous chefs at the window so if you're cheap like me, you don't necessarily have to tip(there's a tip jar for you friendly folk).
-If it's packed, wait outside or come back, it's worth it.(wait a second, no, you should leave just in case I want to eat here).
-get the doughnuts
-they hand you your food through the window.
-they have coffee, teas, sodas, waters, BYOB!!!
-I'm going again tomorrow, so I'll probably see you there.
tl:dr - cheap amazing quality food, just go.

Y'all. I eat their ketchup with a fork.
I know! I know that sounds disgusting! I don't even LIKE ketchup. Who the hell does that? (I promise, I have appropriate shame.) But everything at Bistro Petit is so impeccable that even their ketchup--house-made, of course--is embarrassingly, degradingly,
don't-let-my-mom-see-me-do-this good.
My sense of decorum may have taken a hit, but the rest of my senses are totally cool with it.
Five stars, Bistro Petit.

I love this place! They deserve 10 stars! Everything I have ordered has always been fresh and extremely tasty. So far, I have tried the burger, the steak frites, the serrano chicken sandwich , the fries, and the bacon, egg, and cheese bread pudding. I highly recommend all of them. Please do yourself a favor and try Bistro Petit asap.
You will not be disappointed!

So impressed. A very modest, adorable little place on a quiet corner of Williamsburg. Happy blue and yellow moroccan tiles, dishes served in staub ceramic cookware, warm wood counter tops- very inviting- especially the smiling chef in the kitchen.
Just a heads up for those intending on going- It is a small place with limited counter seating- great for single dinners or couples (chef also mentioned if you intend on coming with more people he can save seats if you call ahead). It is self service, cash only and BYOB- but do not let stop you from popping in. The food is easily the best we have had in the area. The classic french bistro fare is so fresh, flavorful, and you can feel the love in every bite. Even my French husband raved on and on about the croque madame- something he never does!! I had the bacon and eggs bread pudding which was just delightful, the artisan bread and farm fresh eggs really made it stand out from other brunch dishes in the area. The hand cut fries are made fresh in the morning and are irresistible with the home made ketchup.
We finished off with the french donuts- mint and citrus... a simple bite of pure joy.
Chef Park was so friendly, very refreshing to meet such a humble talented chef who truly cares about every detail. He also mentioned that if you bring in a bottle (no corkage fee)
he will be sure to pair you meal properly to compliment the wine. We definitely intend on trying that next time.
All entrees are under $15, specials change on a daily basis.
Nice open kitchen so you can watch the magic happen. Stop in- you wont regret it!!

A new restaurant in scene in Williamsburg. Bistro Petit needs more public and media attention. The kimchi bouillabaisse was an entree that in my opinion no one should pass up. Dduk (which means rice cake in Korean) was a pleasant surprise. Being Korean but a cook in an American restaurant I understood the balance in flavors from both cultures. The broth was very flavorful with a background of spicy korean chili paste. Kobe burger is a must try.
For sides, get the truffle mac n cheese. 5 different types of cheese and hinted with truffle oil, cant go wrong with that.

Bistro Petit is a wonderful addition to the south side of Williamsburg, and I hope it's here to stay. I live in Greenpoint, so it's a bit more of a hike to get there, but damn, it's totally worth it.
My boyfriend and I decided to check out Bistro Petit after reading other reviews and looking over the menu online. I had my sights set on the Kimchi bouillabaisse from the get go.
We arrived around 7pm on Saturday night, and were the only ones in the restaurant. Chef Park greeted us with menus and told us about the special - a pan-fried striped bass stuffed with cilantro, served atop a bed of Israeli couscous and swiss chard, with a side of sweet yellow tomato sauce. He also described how he'd gone to the fish market that morning to pick up the bass, and fresh fish is something I can't pass up. We ordered the special, along with the Kimchi bouillabaisse and a side of brussel sprouts.
As each dish was plated, the chef in the kitchen literally handed it to us over the counter on a tray. The first dish to come out was the brussel sprouts, which were lightly charred in butter, and mixed with salty pancetta and sweet dried cranberries. Delicious. The portion was modest for a $9 side, but it makes sense if you take into account the very reasonable entree pricing (more on that below).
The next dish that came out of the kitchen was the striped bass special. The skin on the bass was pan-fried to perfection, thin and crisp while the meat on the inside was light and flaky. The cilantro was layered beneath the skin, aromatic but not overpowering at all. The yellow tomato sauce (which Chef Park described with such enthusiasm that I couldn't wait to taste it) was a gorgeous yellow-orange color, pureed to a smooth, almost creamy texture, and sweet to taste with just the mildest hint of citrus. Layered underneath it all was the swiss chard and Israeli couscous, which were a lovely complement to the fish and excellent for soaking up the extra sauce. And the entree portion was huge! If I had one complaint about the dish, it was that the skillet it was served in was almost too small to hold everything.
The last dish to arrive was the Kimchi bouillabaisse. It's truly a sight to behold, served in a large iron pot with a side of toast, and brimming over with mounds of mussels, shrimp, scallops, fish, rice gnocchi, seaweed, daikon, and of course, kimchi. This thing was amazing. The broth was spicy and sweet, and the seafood fresh and not at all overcooked. The rice gnocchi was a pleasant surprise, light and smooth and really fun to eat.
We did not have room for dessert, otherwise I would definitely have tried the made-to-order donuts.
With all entrees on the menu priced at no more than $15, our bill, including two beverages (non-alcoholic, it's currently BYOB), came to about $55 including tax and tip. It's a great value, especially because of the quality of the food. Honestly, the entrees are more than enough food, but the appetizers all sounded so good, who can resist?
Note that as a previous reviewer has mentioned, the interior of the restaurant is incredibly small, and all seating is counter seating. I think capacity might be 10-12 people, tops. That said, they've done a nice job of making the space feel cozy as opposed to cramped, with nice lighting choices and wide/deep countertops. The place is pretty adorable on the inside and outside.
Oh, and if you're worried about the limited seating, take out and delivery are both available.
My final recommendation: Go to Bistro Petit before everyone finds out about it and the place gets mobbed by crowds.
They also serve breakfast daily - hooray!

Let me clarify in advance that though I'm giving this place high marks, it is not Per Se or Le Bernardin. However, for a place where no entree tops $15, you will be hard pressed to find better food. Anywhere.
The place is located 5mins from the the Marcy Ave stop in Williamsburg and is tiny. I mean the place seats like a dozen people tops, so it's great for a date, not a group dinner. Some of the seats look into the kitchen so you're able to see the chefs whip up your meal and chat with them as well.
I came here with my girl a few nights ago, and being that it was BYOB, we brought a tasty bottle with us. She started with the endive and radicchio salad, and I had the duck confit. The salad had some interesting flavors and texture contrasts but I live my life a carnivore so it's not something for me. The duck confit on the other hand was something else. Oh man, you get a duck leg so crispy you can strike a match on the skin, but so tender you can take it apart with a spoon. It also came with this foie gras toast that made my day.
I had the grilled short rib for my entree, which was well seasoned and well grilled. Though it was sliced thin, you get a great char on the outside but it was still juicy and pink on the inside. My girl got the kimchi bouillabaisse, which was a seafood extravaganza. It's seriously out of control. Unlike other seafood stews I've had where items are dropped in a pot and boiled, these guys take time to build up flavors; the scallops were seared off first before being added to the stew. The rice gnocchi helped thicken the broth, and also provided the carbs I'm always gorging myself on during meals.
I didn't try dessert, but will definitely give it a shot the next time around. I can't wait.

Yesterday we had an absolutely delightful lunch at Bistro Petit. The moment you walk in you are made to feel welcome by Chef Park and his staff. Once we made our food choices, Chef Park gave us some details about the fresh ingredients he would be using. Seated at the counter we had a view into the kitchen and watched as he thoughtfully prepared our meal. We shared a Kobe burger and the kimchi bouillabaisse which were delicious. There was also freshly squeezed orange juice, hand cut french fries and home made ketchup. Lastly we sampled some home made donuts. They were light and the perfect end to our meal. This place may be small but the food is wonderful
so don't pass it by.
